Over the weekend we did our first official little project in someone else's home. It's a little nerve wracking doing projects in others space because obviously you want them to love it just as much as you do. Avery is one of my best friends though so she was an easy first customer. She reached out to see if we could help revamp her entryway. So we decided to add white board and batten, a new bench, and some new decor to freshen up the space. We used 1x4 MDF for the horizontal piece and attached with a nail gun.

Then we used 1x2 primed MDF for the vertical strips. We cut one end of the 1x2's at a 45 degree angle using a miter saw to have a more seamless finish around the baseboard.

Next we used a pure white paint to paint all over. We decided not to put panels up over the wall because their walls don't have any texture. So we felt it would still look good and be more cost efficient to use the wall as is and paint directly on it. After painting, it looked something like this...

Then we moved on to building the bench. For a full tutorial on how to make the bench, jump over to my other blog post below!
Now it was time for my favorite part... shopping and decorating! We picked up some comfy throw pillows, new basket, rug, hooks, and used some wall art that Avery already had. Keep scrolling to see the completed look!

We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out and Avery loves her new space. For all the supplies and decor pieces, this project came in around $150. Not bad for a few hours work and whole new look!
